The East Shawnee Church of God was organized in the early 1970's on Dorchester Street in Muskogee with a small number of members. Soon after, Pastor George Vance led the congregation in obtaining a small farm house and acreage at the present location and services were held in the house until the present Fellowship Hall was built in 1974. Services were held there until the present Sanctuary was completed shortly thereafter.
